Important Change To License Management In Our Plugins

In order to better serve our paying customers, we have released minor updates to five of our plugins that will change how the their licenses are managed. This new system involves a new, totally optional plugin, CalderaWP License Manager that does nothing on the front-end of your site to impact performance, and can be safely disabled — if you choose to do so — with out affecting your CalderaWP plugins.

This does not in any way affect the agreement that we have made with our users in any way. All existing licenses remain valid and the licenses codes have not changed at all.

The changes we are making provides a more efficient way to manage all CalderaWP licenses. In addition, the changes we are making improves our ability to reliably provide updates to our plugins, which along with support is what the license provides. We will be making the same changes to all paid Caldera Forms add-ons next week.

In addition, we have changed the way that we create zip files for our plugins, to address an issue that was preventing automatic updates on some sites. In the past the zip files have been extracted into folders that included the version number. From here on out, they will extract to a folder that is only named for the plugin.

This change may require deleting the currently installed version and uploading a new copy, which is available from your order history when you are logged into your account.

The plugins updated today are:

These updates move license management from these plugins to a new plugin, CalderaWP License Manager. This new plugin can be installed with one click from inside any of these 5 plugins (and in Caldera Forms soon.)

It is important to note that choosing to not install, or deactivating the CalderaWP License Manager will not cause your CalderaWP plugins to stop working. Installing it is totally optional, and is provided for convenience. You can always manually download the plugins and manage your licenses from your order history.

We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause, and keep in mind that these are changes we are making to ensure that all updates go smoothly in the future.

If you have any questions or need any help, please let us know and we will be happy to assist you.

Moving Forward

While we know spending the time to make these changes was worth it we are excited to be able to focus on improving our existing plugins and creating new, and fun new ones. Expect updates to Clarity for FacetWP and Caldera Forms next week, and to see a release of Easy Queries later this month.
