Things have been pretty busy here at Caldera — this month we have release Caldera Forms add-ons for AWeber and ConvertKit, and released new Caldera Forms bundles. Those new Caldera Forms bundles include a limited time “enterprise bundle” that is totally unlimited — one payment, unlimited sites, and all the Caldera Forms things. It’s a crazy good deal that is not going to last.
We’re working on some big updates for Caldera Forms and Ingot right now and have some upcoming WordCamps to tell you about, but first: we’ve updated three plugins that I want to let y’all know about.
At the end of last week, Torque ran an article on the changes that we are making to improve the efficiency of this organization, and help us grow. Whether you read that article, or my original post on Caldera Labs, I want everyone who uses Caldera Forms or other Caldera Forms plugins to know one thing:
We are making a lot of changes behind the scenes, but the real goal here is to make more plugins and make our plugins more awesome. We may also use this new organization to make new things besides plugins, but in the end, besides better plugins, and some shiny new websites, it will be the same for you, our users, who none of this could be possible without. Well, the same – but more awesome.
Plugin Updates
Caldera Custom Fields 2.1.0
Caldera custom fields is a free plugin that gives two fun powers to Caldera Forms. One is the ability to use Caldera Forms as a metabox in the post editor. This functionality was broken with the latest version of Caldera Forms and is now fixed.
The other super-power of Caldera Custom Fields is the ability to use a Caldera Form as a front-end editor. With this add-on you can use a form to create or edit posts of any post type and save data in custom fields. A often requested feature for this processor was the ability to edit taxonomy terms — including categories and tags. This is now possible in the new version.
Easy Pods 1.1.9
This is a fairly minor update for Easy Pods. It provide compatibility with the latest versions of Pods and Caldera Forms. The only major bug that was fixed was one that prevented Easy Pods using advanced content type Pods from overriding search options in Easy Pods.
Authorize.net 1.0.3
Recently Authorize.net announced that they would require a change in API URLs for all transactions processed through their servers. While they have relaxed this requirement, using the new URLs provides better security, reliability and forward-compatibility. For this reason we have updated our Authorize.net add-on to use the latest version of their PHP SDK, which supports the new routes.
Upcoming Events
Next month I will be presenting at WPCampus — a conference for WordPress in higher education. My talk will be on connecting multiple sites together using the WordPress REST API.
In addition our newest partner and business manager Christie Chirinos will be presenting at WordCamp NYC. Her talk will be on the various ways, including Ingot, that you can use A/B testing to help your business succeed as well as how to figure out what your business should sell and how to sell it.
Both events are being held the weekend of July 2015. If you are attending either event please come say hi. We may or may not have special prizes and/or discounts to give out. #secrets.
